Excursions
This is just a small sample of some of the most popular excursions for this destination. To receive details of our full excursion programme please click here to request an information pack.
Mont St. Michel
Pass through the border town of Brittany, Dol-de-Bretagne, with its 12th century cathedral, range of shops and Saturday morning market, en route to the majestic Mont St. Michel, which often rises out of the mists on the coastline. Dominated by the Gothic Abbey at its peak, Mont St. Michel is as fascinating as ever. Cross the causeway between the mainland and Mont St. Michel by coach or on foot (remember to check the tide times - high tide covers the roadway) to go through the Old Gate. Beware the tides - they are said to come in faster than a galloping horse!
The Grand Aquarium, St. Malo
An exhibition unique in Europe - the latest generation of aquaria. Come face to face with sharks from within the 600,000 litre sea-water tank. Enjoy the spectacular range of sealife, in addition to which there are the open air Touch Pool and numerous cultural and educational displays. Optional additions to your visit are the “Nautibus”, a unique submarine experience in which you enter into mini-submarines (great fun and highly recommended), and the 3-D Cinema, which lasts 12 minutes.
