Le Château d’Amboise – Loire Valley
The royal château of Amboise was the first residence of the Royal French Renaissance. Leonardo da Vinci spent the last three years of his life and is buried here. The gardens of the château give you a panoramic view of the town and the nearby Manoir du Clos Lucé houses forty of Leonardo’s greatest machine discoveries. The mini-château of Amboise has detailed models of all the châteaux of the Loire.
Old Town of Poitiers
2000 years of history dating back to Roman times lie hidden in this “city of 100 bells”. Notre Dame la Grande, the Palais des Comtes de Poitou and la Cathédrale St. Pierre are just some of the spectacular buildings in this interesting town.
