Schools into Europe

Lille

Lille, once capital of Flanders and subsequently home to the Burgundians and Hapsburgs, only became part of France in 1668. At the cross–roads of Europe, the dynamism of the city arguably symbolises the effect of European integration. Why not have a guided tour of the town to see how it has evolved?

You may also take advantage of the superb shopping facilities Lille has to offer; whether it be the large outdoor pedestrian areas or the indoor centres such as the Euralille Centre. Head down to the Old Town of Lille to explore the big names of fashion, design and decoration. Embracing the modern and more traditional aspects of French life are the markets, one at least taking place every day except Monday. (The large Wazemmen market is open Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings. For gastronomes the Marché du Concert takes place Wednesday and Friday mornings and the fun Marché Sébastopol is held on Saturdays and Wednesdays).

Additionally, a very popualr school trip is the Lille Christmas Market, in the heart of the city with a warm and festive feel has plenty of choice to suit all tastes and always receives positive feedback from our customers. Savour a French feel of Christmas and buy some of your presents at the same time!
