Excursions

This is just a small sample of some of the most popular excursions for this destination. To receive details of our full excursion programme please click here to request an information pack.

Day Trip to Cologne

This former Roman town, devastated by bombing in World War II and now a thriving and vibrant city offers a selection of visits, including a guided tour on foot of this beautiful city, a visit to the magnificent Cathedral or an outing to the extremely popular Chocolate Museum (complete with tasting!).

Phantasialand

This popular visit is situated in Brühl, near Bonn, and is one of Europe’s largest amusement parks with a wide range of rides and attractions, including the Space Jet, Giant Water Chutes, Hollywood Specials and Giant Roller Coaster. Open April - October. (Also limited opening during the Christmas Market season.)

Marksburg Castle

The guided tour leads you round this fascinating, beautifully preserved mediæval castle with its Knights’ Hall, kitchen, torture chamber and display of ancient weapons and armour through the ages.

Boppard and the Vierseenblick.

Situated on the banks of the Rhine, Boppard has a lovely Rhine Promenade and also some interesting Roman remains. We recommend taking the chairlift to see the Vierseenblick and enjoy panoramic views of the Rhine. This excursion can easily be combined with a cruise on the Rhine past the notorious Lorelei where the siren is said to have lured many unfortunate sailors to their deaths.
