DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY SCHOOL TRIPS
Design and Technology is one of the most varied subjects taught in school, and encompasses a wide range of skills and specialisms. At Schools Into Europe, we are eager to create your perfect tour, and whether you want to focus more on computer-aided construction techniques, or more established forms of design and drawing, our skilled team will be here to help you at every stage of your booking. Why not see below for some example designations, or contact us to discuss your exact requirements?
DESTINATIONS
The extensively varied nature of Design and Technology makes it a fascinating study focus for a school tour, and there is a huge variety of destinations which may be relevant to your scheme of work. We have only listed a couple of these below, as it is not possible to list all of the options here. If, however, you would like more information on any destination not listed here, please contact us for more information.
LONDON
As the artistic and commercial centre of the country, London is full of visits which are ideal for Design and Technology tours. These include the famous Motor Museum, complete with Batmobile, as well as the Design Museum and the increasingly popular Cartoon Museum. There is also, naturally, the treasures of the Victoria and Albert Museum, a world leader in the study and collection of designed materials. Beyond museums, London has a number of visits of interest from a technical point of view, including the Tower Bridge Visitors’ Centre and the former Olympic Park, with its iconic ArcelorMittal Orbit, the UK’s tallest sculpture. For those interested in prosthetics and film design, meanwhile, there is the Harry Potter Studio Tour, not to mention the original Madame Tussaud’s. Please visit our London page for more details.
PARIS
Paris is one of the engineered wonders of the Western World, with a planned city scape quite unique and integral to its identity. Learn about the fascinating design principles of this enchanting city at the City of Architecture and Heritage in the Trocadéro, with incomparable views of the Eiffel Tower, another of Paris’ design miracles. Afterwards, spend some time at the Galeries Lafayette or on the Champs Elysées, arguably the most influential fashion district in the world, and home to some of the world’s top designers. Once you are finished in the city, head out to Parc Disneyland® or Parc Astérix for a thoroughly different design experience, where some of the world’s most technologically advanced attractions blend seamlessly with the park’s designed aesthetic. Or else, head further south to Futuroscope to visit one of Europe’s most unusual and sophisticated theme parks. Please click here to visit our Paris page for more information.
