LONDON
With a wealth of media-based excursions, London is a fantastic destination for Media and Film Studies tours. Entertaining and interactive, but educational too, students can go behind the scenes and learn how the media industry really works. We can offer a broad range of visits, both hands-on and fun, from tours of the BBC and British Board of Film Certification, to workshops at Sky Skills and the Guardian Newsroom. We can also arrange film viewings at the South Bank’s IMAX cinema, and of course no Media and Film Studies tour would be complete without a visit to the ever-popular Harry Potter Studios! BERLIN
The home of Axel Springer AG, Europe’s most successful publishing house; Berlin is a great option for Media and Film Studies Tours, where groups have the opportunity to tour television and film studios, gaining a real insight into the German media industry. Our fantastic excursion programme includes a guided tour of the ARD Hauptstadtstudio TV Studio, guided tours and workshops at the Berlin Film Museum, a fun-filled day at Babelsberg Film Park, and a visit to Berlin’s iconic TV Tower, where groups can view Berlin’s skyline from the observation deck 207m above ground. PARIS THEME PARKS
Perhaps one of the most successful media conglomerates of all time, the Walt Disney Company has a diverse output, although it is most fondly remembered for the children’s and adventure films which provide the inspiration for the rides at Disneyland® Paris. Nearby, meanwhile, is Parc Astérix, based on the famous comic books, and another excellent example of diversification through merchandising by a film company. Please click here to visit our Disneyland® page or here to visit our Parc Astérix page.
FUTUROSCOPE
One of France’s most visited attractions, Futuroscope is an “intelligent theme park” and the nature of its rides makes it perfect for Media and Film Studies tours. Both fun and educational, the combination of 3D image technology and futuristic interactive rides covers a wide range of themes, including science, technology and conservation. Special effects and film shows allow visitors to dance with robots, explore the human body and travel through the centuries in a time machine. The park’s colourful laser show after dark is not to be missed! Work-books are also available to provide school groups visits an educational focus. Please click here to visit our Futuroscope page.
